Collected in 2023 in the Black Hills in South Dakota. Very, very old natural deadwood / shari. This tree features a very unique basal crook which gives way to dramatic curves and lines up the trunk.
The rootmass on this tree is very refined despite only being in bonsai cultivation for a few years. This tree has naturally SHORT needles (<2.5” as pictured), which have remained post collection — which is rare for yamadori Ponderosa's!
This tree is just a few years of refinement from being show-ready.
