ANCIENT Yamadori Ponderosa Pine
Perfect for someone looking to elevate their collection with a yamadori specimen!
Originally styled by and acquired from Bjorn Bjornholm at Eisei-en in Nashville in 2022. Initially collected from a granite pocket at high elevation in the Rockies (collector unknown).
Estimated to be 100-200 years old when collected, judging by fractured and naturally bleached shari that curls up the trunk and the miniscule growth rings on the branches.
As is the case with many ponderosa’s, this pine’s genetics lead to quite long needles, which have not reduced much yet within the bonsai container. Great opportunity to graft with Japanese Black Pine and have a show-ready tree in a few years.

This tree weighs at least 30lbs and has large lateral dimensions. Local pickup in STL, MO is STRONGLY preferred.
